I have also had a lot of problems with EasySync 4.1 and 4.2 under R5 (I haven't used it on 6). If you can't get your problems with EasySync sorted out, may I recommend you purchase Pylon Conduit from AvantGo? It's a great program, although somewhat expensive. That's all I can recommend for you.
